Harsiddhi Temple Ujjain – One of the 51 Shakti Peethas
Harsiddhi Temple in Ujjain holds the 13th place among the 51 Shakti Peethas. According to the Shiva Purana, Sati's elbow fell here and the goddess is worshipped as Mangal Chandika. Maratha ruler Ranoji Shinde (Scindia) rebuilt the temple after making Ujjain his capital in 1731. Two 51-foot lamp pillars light up with over a thousand lamps during Navratri. Located just 600 metres from Mahakaleshwar, this temple is on every pilgrim's first-day list in Ujjain.
