Mahakumbh 2025: Last Mahashivratri Amrit Snan at Triveni Sangam
The Maha Kumbh Mela 2025, held in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, is a historic Hindu pilgrimage. From January 13 to February 26, 2025, devotees will gather at Triveni Sangam—the confluence of Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers. The final Amrit Snan (holy dip) on February 26 coincides with Mahashivratri, marking the end of this 144-year cycle.
Why Mahashivratri’s Amrit Snan Matters
Mahashivratri celebrates the union of Lord Shiva and Goddess Shakti. Bathing at Triveni Sangam on this day is believed to grant blessings for spiritual growth and liberation (moksha). Over 400 million pilgrims are expected to attend the event.
