Why Mahashivratri’s Amrit Snan Matters

Mahashivratri celebrates the union of Lord Shiva and Goddess Shakti. Bathing at Triveni Sangam on this day is believed to grant blessings for spiritual growth and liberation (moksha). Over 400 million pilgrims are expected to attend the event.

Rules for Amrit Snan

  1. Let Naga Sadhus bathe first.

  4. Avoid soaps/shampoos to keep rivers clean.
  5. Take five dips in the Ganga for full blessings.
