Lalluji Gopaldas & Sons, the firm responsible for setting up tents during the Mahakumbh and Magh Mela, has come under legal scrutiny. A case has been registered against the company after a devastating fire engulfed its warehouse in the Kidganj area late on October 7.

The complaint was lodged by retired judge Arun Prakash, who lives adjacent to the warehouse. He alleged that the company illegally maintained a storage facility filled with highly flammable materials — including tents, curtains, plastic sheets, and decorative items — in a densely populated residential locality.

According to Arun Prakash, the late-night blaze spread rapidly, severely damaging his home. “Half of the first and second floors of my house were gutted, causing losses worth several lakhs,” he stated in the complaint.

Lalluji Gopaldas & Sons, a well-known firm that handled large-scale tent and logistics arrangements during previous Mahakumbh and Magh Mela events, has not yet issued an official response to the allegations. Police have begun investigating the matter.
