Preparations for the 2027 Ardh Kumbh in Haridwar are accelerating, with senior seers expressing confidence that the event will be “grand and divine” under the leadership of Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.
Shri Mahant Ravindrapuri, President of the Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad and head of the Mansa Devi Temple Trust, said CM Dhami’s guidance will significantly enhance the scale and dignity of the upcoming Ardh Kumbh. He confirmed that construction and infrastructure work for the spiritual gathering has already begun in Haridwar.
Addressing recent reports, he clarified that the Akhara Parishad has not held any meeting yet. A gathering at Juna Akhara on Thursday was only related to Bhairav Ashtami and not the Kumbh. “Whenever a meeting on the Kumbh is held, it takes place with the Chief Minister,” he noted.
Mahant Ravindrapuri said he recently spoke with CM Dhami, who assured him that a formal Akhara Parishad meeting will be called soon after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit. “The Chief Minister’s call will send a message across the world about the grand scale of the Ardh Kumbh,” he added.
He stressed that there is no disagreement with the government and that enough time remains for preparations. He also praised the efforts of the Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra governments, noting that Haridwar too has begun its construction work. Various akharas and saints are gearing up actively for the event.
