Actress and social media star Riva Arora recently visited the Maha Kumbh Mela and shared her experience through multiple photos on social media, showcasing her taking a holy dip in the Ganges.
Riva captioned her post, "Witnessing magic once in a lifetime – the sacred spectacle of Mahakumbh," expressing her excitement about the pilgrimage, but many netizens felt it appeared more like a photoshoot.
The actress has faced online trolling before, especially for working alongside much older actors, and this time, social media users accused her of attending the event for publicity rather than genuine faith.
Addressing online negativity in an earlier interview, Riva mentioned that she does not concern herself with those who doubt her age or career choices, as she chooses to focus on the love she receives.
She emphasized that the overwhelming support from her fans outweighs any criticism, stating that she is grateful for their encouragement and refuses to focus on negativity surrounding her public appearances.
Riva has established herself as a successful child artist, having starred in major Bollywood films like Uri: The Surgical Strike, Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl, and Section 375, among others.
Apart from films, she has also worked in web series like TVF Tripling Season 2 and made her acting debut in Rockstar, directed by Imtiaz Ali, showcasing her diverse acting portfolio.
Currently, she plays a significant role in the JioHotstar series Power Of Paanch, alongside actors like Jaiveer Juneja, Aditya Raj Arora, and Urvashi Dholakia, with Ektaa R Kapoor backing the project.
Despite facing occasional criticism, Riva continues to thrive in the entertainment industry, focusing on her career and engaging with her supportive fanbase while ignoring the negativity online.
While some fans appreciated her visit and praised her for embracing spirituality, others criticized her choice of attire, an orange saree, and questioned the authenticity of her religious devotion.
